Originally from Monaghan, harpist Clare McCague has been awarded scholarships to both the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. She has won many prizes at Dublin’s Feis Ceoil, both as a soloist and chamber musician. She is currently completing a degree in Music Performance with Denise Kelly at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. In May 2011, Clare was selected to accompany President Mary MacAleese as the harpist on her official state trip to the Netherlands, and has since performed at Áras an Uachtaráin on numerous occasions.
